The Clubhouse Retreat - Highland Heights

Working closely with Otero Signature Homes, our team furnished The Clubhouse Retreat. The primary design challenge centered on creating cohesion between the richly saturated bar area and the surrounding spaces without disrupting flow. To address this, subtle architectural elements—like faux columns—were introduced to define zones while maintaining an open, connected feel. Materiality and layering played a key role in achieving balance. Monochromatic millwork keeps the space feeling current, while brass lighting and mixed metals add depth and warmth. Each selection was made to enhance both the aesthetic and the experience—ensuring the space feels elevated, yet livable. The result is a seamless, well-orchestrated retreat where every detail—from the millwork to the lighting—works together to create a cohesive environment designed for both function and atmosphere.

The Clubhouse Retreat transforms a basement into a destination-driven space designed for both entertaining and everyday escape. Inspired by the intimacy of a modern speakeasy, the design blends polished, high-end finishes with a warm, welcoming atmosphere, creating a setting that feels both refined and relaxed. A cool, muted palette of blues and greys establishes a sophisticated backdrop, layered with crisp white marble surfaces for contrast and brightness. Custom millwork and detailed paneling anchor the space, bringing a sense of craftsmanship and architectural depth, while mixed metals and thoughtfully selected lighting introduce warmth and visual interest. Designed for connection and experience, the space extends beyond the bar to include custom lounge seating, a poker table, and a putting green—offering multiple moments for gathering, hosting, and unwinding within a cohesive environment.
